Calathea Yellow Fusion

The Calathea, Ctenanthe & Stromanthe plants are the most popular indoor plants in New Zealand, seen in many homes and offices. Calathea plants are part of the Marantaceae family which is a flowering species from the tropical areas in Africa. They are also known as prayer plants as they will curl their leaves up at night.

They thrive in high-humidity areas like bathrooms and kitchens.  They prefer medium to bright, indirect light as direct sun will burn the leaves of these variegated beauties.

These plants are great at creating healthier indoor spaces by helping to filter out the toxins in the air around them.

Make sure to water them weekly as they tend to sulk if they dry out, for the best conditions these plants like damp, but not soggy, soil.
